We protect your data and your bid.
We understand, it’s your data and you want it protected. Data protection is an issue at the top of everyone’s mind these days with security breaches and hacks taking place every now and again at major retailers and with all of the scams out there.
We take extra steps to mitigate fraud and protect our bidders. One of these steps is requiring a credit card to authorize your account. We don’t charge bidders to register or bid. The card is how we authorize your bid and protect ourselves and consignors from fraud.
If you don’t win, you don’t pay. That’s just how we work. We don’t have registration fees, bidding fees or downpayment requirements (with a few exceptions). You only pay when you win.
When do we charge?
We have a few charges. Buyer’s premium which is 15% of the total cost and then we have tax. We will also charge a retroactive 15% relisting fee when bidders default and fail to pick up their items. We won’t charge anyone to register, we won’t charge anyone to bid. Charges to your account will only happen when an auction ends and if you win an item.
Once the auction closes, invoices are generated by the system and sent out immediately. If your invoice is under $1000 we will charge the full amount of your invoice to the card on file. By bidding, you have authorized that automatic payment.
Pay with cash by reaching out to our office right after the auction closes and we can make a note in the system.
If your invoice is greater than $1000 your card will be charged 15% of the total cost and the rest must be paid by wire or cash within the next 24 hours.
The only other charges we have are a 15% relisting fee in the case of forfeit or a $300.00 authorization when you bid on a vehicle with us (this will be returned if you lose that auction or contribute toward the total cost if you win).
We do not directly handle your sensitive financial information. All credit information is stored with our third party partner Authorize.net to ensure data protection. They specialize in processing payments safely and securely. We trust our partner to hold onto and protect your information because that’s their specialty — auctions are ours.
